'Tis the Season

'Tis the Season of Giving...

We have had an exciting 2017! It was kicked off by a bountiful benefit dinner!  In addition; all your prayers, fundraising and donations granted us the ability to become established here in West Virginia. It has been a challenging year and as I reflect, I am in awe of all that was provided. I am humbled by all of you who have partnered with us and for those who have captured the vision the Lord has placed on my heart. Take a look at what YOUR generosity and prayers have allowed us to do this 2017. We were able to serve some of the women and locals in the area. We created a place for women at risk to come and work. We were able to provide a home and fix it up for a local mom in serious need. We witnessed her rise above some of her circumstances and flourish in her new home. Your generosity contributed to the care provided for the precious little girl who lived with me for three months. We were able to stock up on supplies for the ZH program. We acquired a ministry house for our staff and volunteers. We do continue to wait for the desired Zera House. I have been receiving calls for some time now asking if we are open yet. There are so many women in need of placement so they can begin their journey in the healing process. We are hoping to share exciting news in the new year! We still have a long way to go, and we know that the Lord's timing IS perfect. Daily I have to remind myself to get out of the way, so that the Lord can have HIS way! This Christmas season, we are asking for you to please consider making Zera House your place to give. Our biggest need as of now, is making our *ministry house livable. I have an estimated budget of $5,000 for supplies and a separate list for appliances and other needs.

  • Exterior Side door
  • Exterior/ Interior French doors ( to replace the sliding door that is broken)
  •  Windows
  • Stove
  • Refrigerator
  • Cabinets
  • Sheet Rock
  • Paint
  • Wood Floor Stain
  • 2 sets of bunk beds
  • 2 toilets
  • shower
  • tile
  • kitchen sink

We are happy to take any used items on this list. If you know of anyone remodeling their home that would be willing to donate to Zera House, it would be so helpful. We have non-cash donation receipts available.

*it is possible we will make the ministry house a temporary place for our survivors while we wait on the desired house.

We are excited to share, this will be the house that will host our staff and volunteers who serve in our ministry. This lovely piece of property was purchased at a tax sale for a grand total of $1,000! So again,  thank you to all who support us. This was possible because of  YOU!  As many of you know, I have been living in a classroom in an old school building since I moved here is April. I am looking forward to living in a place I can finally call home. Before I move right in, there is SO MUCH work to be done. This house had been left vacant for 10 plus years, it was ransacked by thieves who stripped all the copper from the house. The good news is, we have been working endlessly to get it cleaned out and gutted. It's moving along quite well, thanks to some locals who have stepped in to help get it cleaned out. They are very brave people I tell you!  There were dishes left in the sink, clothes in the washing machine and food left in the refrigerator. So, between rat nests falling on our heads, gagging from the rotted food and the maggots that infested the pantry and fridge and all the troubled breathing, we have been working extremely hard to get this place cleaned out to use for our Zera House ministry. The goal is to create a home environment for those who serve our women. This will be a place of rest for those who will have one of the hardest jobs in the ministry. This house is a HUGE undertaking and I have been left a little overwhelmed, lets be honest. It needs a lot of work to make it livable. What a job! I need help raising money for this project and/or perhaps people to come and volunteer their time fixing it up. This is very exciting and I can't wait to see it to completion.  It's quite symbolic, don't you think? "Rebuilding the ancient ruins."  I can't wait to see all that will take place in this home: prayer gatherings,  worship sets, breaking bread, laughter and testimonies learning of  our women being delivered from the horrors of sexual exploitation! This is going to be a THRILLING 2018! So excited for whats in store!

This was our Thanksgiving! We were able to host some of the locals that didn't have a table to sit around for Thanksgiving. What a blessed time this was. Thank you to all who helped make this possible!

Shout out to Matthews Presbyterian Church in Matthews, NC. Thank you for allowing me to come and share what we are so passionate about here at Zera House. Big thank you to their youth who helped run our Zera House boutique table! Big BIG thanks to all the members who gave so generously and for the doors that have been opened because of this opportunity. I am humbled by this partnership!

ANSWER TO PRAYER...I have been praying to the Lord to send me a solid woman to help me here in WV. There have been many tearful nights wondering how I will keep going at this alone here in McDowell County. Well, the Lord didn't send me one woman,  but FIVE solid women! These warrior women have been praying for two years for a ministry to come along side of that caters to survivors of sexual exploitation. Well guess what, Zera House has been in existence for two years!!! I am so grateful for these strong and inspiring women who have come along side of me to fight the good fight!

Please continue to pray for us this Christmas season and for all the exciting things that await us in 2018!
Praying for a very merry and peaceful Christmas and Joyous New Year for you!
Much love and gratitude,  Ariel
